How would Independents deal with Illegal immigration ?

First thing to understand is, why is UK such a draw. As I understand it, in many instances applicants have been refused asylum in an EU country, and because of a shared fingerprint data base, that refusal is repeated in other EU countries.

The UK is obviously outside the EU, and, with a high asylum approval rate (it was as high as 70% against an EU average of 38%) has become a magnet for legal and illegal migration.

Home Office needs to do its job.  i.e.

  • Get the EU status (pay if necessary) of prospective asylum seekers;-
  • Establish that the first point of refusal retains responsibility for unsuccessful applicants
  • Return Illegal Migrants to the first point of refusal;-
  • Make the first point of refusal liable for any future costs.
  • Restore legal routes to apply for asylum from abroad.

I think this will trigger the much-needed cleanup of the “Toxic Tories Trojan Horse”, left behind for Deform to use, when they abdicated responsibility at a time when they knew voters were washing their hands of them.

This reset would be welcomed by genuine asylum seekers and UK nationals.
