Speaking Truth to Power
Speaking truth to Power

After a 35-year career working for the worlds largest shipping companies, I now get to spend my time supporting my local community as a City Councillor. I hope to be able to represent the wider area of Chelmsford as a Member of Parliament following this election.

My wife, Marie and I settled in Galleywood in 2006, and we have been blessed with, and enjoy spending time with, our two children, and five grandchildren.
Marie works at the Galleywood Heritage Centre and we both volunteer our time there, at all of the community fundraising events put on, with our local residents in mind, helping to bring people together.

During lockdown, alongside my wife Marie, we founded the Galleywood Volunteer Group that covered everyone of our 70 streets in Galleywood with volunteers closest to the needs. Whether that was prescription needs, food shopping or welfare calls. The Galleywood Volunteer Group liaised and supported Great Baddow and Moulsham Lodge volunteer groups setup as well.

My public service began when I was co-opted to Galleywood Parish as Councillor in August 2009, and residents of Galleywood elected me to be a Chelmsford City Councillor in May 2019. Looking back I have been giving my spare time to public service for 15 years.
